Bopp Packing Tape
This pressure-sensitive tape is utilized for shipping, inventory control, and corrugated box closure or sealing. It is made of a backing material, such as polypropylene, a thermoplastic polymer that becomes malleable above a particular temperature and solidifies upon cooling, coated with a pressure-sensitive adhesive. PP film is stretched to the machine and crosswise direction to strengthen the strength and clarity of the film in packing tapes, which are typically bi-axially oriented. Additionally, the structure facilitates the application of packaging tape, both manually and automatically.
It might function at both greater and lower temperatures because it is a thermoplastic polymer. Though not all producers offer tensile strength data, industrial grade packaging.
A variety of backing strengths and calipers as well as adhesive formulations are available. The Adhesive Tape family is as follows:
Acrylic adhesives:
Acrylic adhesives are a suitable solution. They do not adhere as rapidly as hot melt adhesives (they have good initial adhesion but require about 24 hours to reach full bond strength), but they are more heat, UV, and shear resistant. This sort of glue is ideal for long-term packing.
Hot melt/rubber adhesives:
Hot melt/rubber adhesives are one of the most popular due to their consistent, dependable, and rapid sealing. This type of adhesive attaches rapidly to the surface and has a high tensile strength, making it an excellent choice for shipment security. It adhered nicely to a variety of media, including film and fibreboard.
The size of the tape should be modified to match the weight and dimensions of the box/carton being sealed. To ensure the tape’s maximum performance, the box must remain intact with the material inside.
If a tape remains on a corrugated box during recycling, choose one that does not interfere with the box’s recyclability. When taped corrugated boxes are recycled, film-backed box sealing tapes do not impede the process because the PSA adhesive remains on the backing and is easily removed.
BOPP tapes are traditionally available in two colors: clear and brown, but manufacturers now provide them in red, pink, orange, yellow, green, black, white, purple, and blue PLAIN & PRINTED.
